3lucky33
Doea anyone know how I might be able to tow my Transit behind my Motor Home wthout the use of a dolly? Can I just put the transmission in nuetral or to I need a transmission pump? Does any manufacturer have a transmission pump available? Does any manufacturer have a base plate for mounting the tow bar? The Ford Transit is one awesome little vehicle and I know that towing it behind my motor home will give me extreme flexibility. Thanks, T
james3
I want to do the same thing. Did anyone ever answer your question of using a dolly or tow bar?
103west43rd
As per page 154 in my 2010 Owners manual....... RECREATIONAL TOWING Follow these guidelines if you have a need for recreational (RV) towing. An example of recreational towing would be towing your vehicle behind a motorhome. These guidelines are designed to ensure that your transmission is not damaged. Note: Put your climate control system in recirculated air mode to prevent exhaust fumes from entering the vehicle. Front Wheel Drive (FWD) vehicles with automatic transmissions: Do not tow the vehicle with the front drive wheels on the ground. It is recommended to tow your vehicle with the front drive wheels on a dolly with the transmission in N (Neutral) or with all four (4) wheels off the ground on a car-hauling trailer So much for towing in neutral.
