Another newb & question.

Hello everyone. I purchased my '14 2.5l LWB liftgate van two weeks ago.

It is the first auto transmission vehicle I've ever owned (seriously!), so that will take some getting used to.

My previous vehicle was a 2.3l Mazda 3, so the engine compartment looks very familiar.

So far, I've installed the Curt class 3 hitch, a dashcam, and will be wiring in a couple of USB power points.

My question is: I would like to tie into the existing wiring harness to wire my trailer light controller, rather than run a new wire under the vehicle. I would only be pulling a 4x8 Harbor Freight trailer with a total of 4 lights, so the amp draw won't be too high. I also install inline fuses for any modified wiring that I do. I have the body builder's layout guide, but it provides no insight as to the color coding of the wiring. Does a wiring guide exist for the '14 models?

Thanks!

I got the lights wired, as the harness came with T connectors w/ plugs on both ends. It's the 12v source to power the converter box that I can't identify. The instructions say to run a wire from the battery to the converter box, but I'd like to avoid that if possible. Guess I'll head out with the multimeter.

Sorry, I guess I missed where you were going. Isn't there a fuse box in the left-rear? That should have a constant 12v running to it. Should be easy to identify as it will probably be pretty heavy gauge.
