Notrannyboy
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum as I just got a 2010 T230. Everything seems fine with it except when I change from 2nd to 3rd there is a slight grind. Nothing to loud or crunching just a slight grind. Enough to put a potential buyer off. As I bought it from an auction I couldn't have foreseen this. It had no Mot so I just put it through one with no problems. I asked the mechanic to take it for a drive and he said he never noticed anything. Now I know it's there im able to avoid the grinding by just slowing down with my gear change slightly. The van has only done 67k with good service history. May it just be low on oil or is there some cable that may need adjusting. Hope it's an easy fix as my intension is to sell it on so any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks Tony.
103west43rd
Hello Notrannyboy. Welcome to the US Ford Transit Connect Forum. Manual transmissions are not available in the US. For info specific to the manual transmission Transit Connect try the UK Ford Transit Connect site, http://fordtransit.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=54 . From personal experience, grinding that stops when shiffting slower between gears usually is a sign of worn or damaged syncros. Good Luck.
