dcommsc
And I had a broken locking lug, so why not upgrade, right? ?
Bert Remington
I too switched to Black lug nuts (DPAccessories) although without a security key. However the cone face was shorter than the stock lug nuts so I only torqued them to 120 lbft rather than stock 150 lbft. What was your experience in this regard? I used McGard, and same - cone was definitely shorter. I called McGard and confirmed I had the correct kit - which I did and they said its OK, as mine were designed for Alloy wheels only. Guessing the big stock ones work well with steelies as well (so I kept 5 stock lugs for the spare tire). I torqued mine to the specs in my manual, which was 100lb-ft (2014 TC).
