BuckyB started following New purchase 2018 TC LWB. and Fault code for multiple cylinder misfires

Picked up my 2018 transit connect 24K miles with a salvage title due to it was caught in a low level flood. Since I’ve had it if you run it under load uphill in sport mode in 4th gear about 3500-3750 RPM the check engine light will blink and if I keep my foot into it it’ll derate briefly and get my foot out of it power, AC all come back and logs a check engine light for multiple cylinder misfires. I can tell when I’m driving it normally it’ll stumbles like it’s missing but never logs a code and it doesn’t do it all the time just here and there. I’ve changed the plugs, coils, camshaft position and crank position sensors with no improvement. When it stumbles it never logs the code which makes me think something is wrong with the PCM. Buddy of mine thinks it’s a ground issue with the injectors, but again I’ve put 17K on it and has never broke down.

I do know the cooler has to be after the bypass valve for cold weather startup and driving, unless the coolers max pressure is far beyond what pressure the transmission produces. There again, it’s been a long time since I’ve owned and fiddled with one, and I was always told and I’ve installed. few over the years, when installing an aftermarket cooler you abandon the one in the radiator (clearly this isn’t in the radiator and thanks for the great illustration). Hence the the cooling system regulates the trans temp. NOW, without looking it up I’m certain the OEM thermostat is every bit of 195 to 210 (I’ve seen 220 on some of our fleet vehicles) degrees. And 220 is too hot for any HYD oil. When my new to me van shows up I’ll keep everyone posted on what I find and what direction I went.

It wouldn’t be an issue installing an aftermarket cooler, just wanted to ask to get an idea how much room I’m looking at to get something ordered up. I know ATF makes a good HYD oil, any hyd oil over 180 degrees you’ll start seeing seals hardening etc. i do agree with an addition of a fan, then it comes down to the largest cooler i can put in there with an electric fan.

I recently purchased (haven't taken possession, it’s being shipped from NJ) a 2018 TC w/2.5L. I’ve only owned one automatic in my life (1991 suburban with a 700R4 trans), after it went out I rebuilt it and added a shift kit and a transmission cooler. Clearly adding a shift kit isn’t an option but a trans cooler is vital due to adding fluid capacity and a cooler transmission is a happier transmission. Has anyone here added a transmission cooler and if so what unit was used?

I recently purchased (2 days ago and still needs to be shipped to me) a low mile (20K) 2018 transit connect LWB from NJ (the white one). I’m using it to replace my small car to haul my motorcycles (dirt bikes) to races and occasional grocery getter. I’m ordering new wheels like the one below, and a Yakama style luggage rack to give it another look other than a work van and possibly a Maxx Air vent to exhaust gas fumes from the bikes. I’ve noticed overseas (Europe) companies sell aftermarket parts to accessorize the look and I was wondering if any companies like those are located here in the USA? I’d like to lower no more than 2” and add some ground effects to lower the profile look and paint the front and rear bumpers white but leave the side covers black. I came across this van (the brown one) on the net (from a post here) that I’d like to modify to somewhat mirror the look.
