  1. Have tried to locate vacuum leak with propane. No luck. Also, will over heat at idle then gets into the stall phase. Will stall if rpm is allowed to fall below 800. Fans do not come on until over 245 degrees. Both fans come on during KOEO test. What sensors does the PCM use to turn on fans?
  2. 2013 with used engine starts and runs fine. No DTCs. As temp rises. idle drops to point engine stalls. Stalls whenever coming to a stop. Replaced plugs, coils, throttle body cam position sensor, forward o2 sensor. I have forscan, but not sure how to make use of it. It seems to tell me all sensors are ok, no faults. If I hold idle at 2000rpm to heat up engine, temp will go almost hot (245F) before high fan comes on. The PCM is original to vehicle. Vehicle has 295k miles, motor (2.0 from focus) has 100k. I've checked for vacuum leaks with propane, haven't located any. Stumped.
  3. This is an older topic, but I have an older TC. Three of them as a matter of fact. Delivery vans, heavy mileage. I have a 2010 with 305k and blown engine for parts, a 2011 with 250k and a 2013 with 271K and blown engine. Just replaced engine with used with 90k. Started for the first time today! However, after 30 minutes at idle, temp is mid gauge, but no fans. Follow bleed air procedure, 2500 rpm for 8 minutes. Temp slowly creeps up past 3/4, no fan. No decrease in coolant. Radiator is hot as are hoses. No codes. Ran KOEO test, fans came on. Seems that rules out fuses, which I checked, relays, fan motor and PCM? Any ideas? Replace the 2 temp sensors? The used engine, came with sensors. This van would sometimes overheat at traffic light pre blow up. I'm stumped.

  5. I understand your point, however, I have three of these, I do my own work and I can put back on the road for around $1k. Swap the engine and most of the systems swap with it. As long as the chassis is sound, much cheaper than buying another vehicle for $6K. So my question remains.
  6. I have a 2013 TC 280K with blown engine. This is my second TC. Another blew engine at 305K. I am going to replace the 2013 engine and want to know if a 2.3l or 2.5l can be used and will the tranny mate up. Other options are welcome. Obviously I can do the 2.0l, just curious since something is going to go in it.
