  1. I replaced the center muffler but it made no difference. When I cut the pipe loose I noticed that the flexible pipe up near the front cat is VERY soft. I could move the pipe around almost like it is not connected at the front. I'm not sure if that joint is supposed to be so soft. Anyone know? The flex pipe had a white residue all over the mesh. It looked like it had been hot.
  2. It's funny that you say that because I have been wondering if it could be intake related instead of exhaust. I don't know about this snorkle. I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion. I see you are in VA. Where are you located? Also, would you mind trying something for me? If I take a rag and fold it over and hold it tightly over the tail pipe, the engine does not even slow down. Exhaust clearly leaks out somewhere but I am not sure how much leakage is normal. Would you (or anyone else) mind trying that and letting me know the results?
  3. Guys, I have a 2011 TC. I use the van primarily for trips hauling my racing karts to the track but occasionally drive it around town too. I have noticed recently that at certain RPMs and throttle positions it gets VERY loud inside the cabin. The only exhaust leak I can find is from a small hole in the front end plate of the front muffler. It's black around the hole and water leaks from here when the engine is warming up (condensation I assume). The hole appears to be there by design and is quite small. That muffler (it's in the middle of the van but I think it's considered the "front muffler" by Ford has some surface rust but I don't see anything else obviously leaking. I don't know enough about the way mufflers are made. Could this be my problem? Not sure if the water leaking from that hole and the exhaust leaking from there indicated some sort of internal problem with the muffler or not. I'd hate to spend a couple hundred bucks replacing it if it's not the problem. Also, where's the joint to disconnect that center muffler if you have to replace it? Thanks for the help. Todd
  4. The adapter plate is bolted to the factory holes for the rear seats. I did not have to drill holes in the floor or anything like that. I installed a "bed rug" which I am very happy with. The bed rug goes over the plate and then the seats bolt in on top. I can have the seats out in under 10 minutes and the bedrug keeps the rear effectively flat. You can see the seatbelts in the last picture. They don't have pretty covers but they work perfectly in the rear.
  5. I bought a set of front seats, made an adapter plate and installed them in the rear. You can get the bench seat but people want like $1000 for them. I did this with almost new seats (100 miles on them) for $200.00. The seats I got from the junk yard were so nice that I put them in the front and moved my fronts to the rear. I also got a set of front seatbelts and installed them in the rear too. The belts bolted right up. All I had to do was make an L bracket that fit the factor mounts in the floor.
  6. Hello, I have a 2011 TC and recently had the opportunity to look in the back of a TC taxi. It had plastic covers over the wheel wells. Not the full panels but just covers over the wheel arches in the back. Anybody know the part numbers or where I can get a set? Thanks, Todd
  7. Just adding this for future reference. Despite what it says in the owner's manual, there are seperate fuses for the cigarette lighter, front power port and rear power port on a U.S. spec 2011 Transit Connect. See my post above. The plugs for the lighter and powerports are the same and I believe mine may have been switched at some point (or at the factory). So my cigarette fuse looked fine eventhough it would not work and my powerport fuse was blown eventhough it would work. I replaced the "second power port" fuse and my lighter started working. That migh be coufusing.....short version....seperate fuses for all three 12v ports (cigarette lighter, PP in console, and PP in rear). Check all 3 if you are having this issue. Todd
  8. Any resolution to this? My TC is a 2011. The front power port and rear power port work fine. The cigarette lighter has no power. According to the manual, the front power port and the cigarette lighter are on the same fuse so I am not sure what's going on. I'd like to be able to use both the front power port and the cigarette lighter to charge devices when I am on the road. I'm checking at the wire connector so I know the lighter itself is not the problem. Wiring looks fine....front power port (and rear) works fine. Any ideas?
  9. I am looking for rear seats too! Email: toddkageals@cox.net if you have some. Thanks, Todd
