i have no problem with social programs, if they are run locally (schools, fire department, welfare, healthcare etc.)...public healthcare program is a great thing, but it should be kept at the local level and run by local hospitals and property tax. when they are run social programs federally is when i have a problem with it. the taxes go through too many department, and by the time they reach the intended benefactor, there is nothing left.
