  1. mrtn, I do have some concerns about future windscreen replacement and would not have opted for a heated one had I a choice at the time. (won't need it often in my area) on my dime I would replace with the regular glass (unless my insurance would cover most of the cost for the expensive heated glass) Transits look great in red like yours ! (mine is plain white for work) had I the option at the time, I likely would have considered silver anyway. Videlli
  2. Did anyone else not get factory splash guards on a new T.C. ? I bought what I considered a "loaded" model with some options and features that I may rarely if ever use yet no factory flaps came on board. The way the body "rolls under" at the rocker panel area allows the tires to fling road grime onto the front doors and rear bumper whenever it is wet out (often since I live in Portland). A trip to Northwest Auto Accessories here in town brought my attention to some aftermarket guards called Roadsport Pro Fit by Powerflow. The packaging lists which size number fits what vehicle. For a Transit, the fit chart says size #1 for both front and rear. The price seemed a bit high ($60 - $80 for two pair) to chance getting stuck with them if not a good fit (non closeable package) A web search took me to J C Whitney who listed the same guards as "guaranteed to fit" at the blowout price of $11 dollars a pair during a free shipping special ! These arrived today and I have only had time to "test fit" them. I have to say, they look like a great match fit wise. They are a black molded somewhat rubbery poly material contoured to fit around the (dark gray) fender flares (not just a flat stamped out flap) The quality seems rather good for having paid less than $25 delivered. I will report back regarding the install and performance results. Videlli
  3. Hey Willie. Just an FYI. The splash guards arrived today and a quick "test fit" suggests that they will work out great at fraction of what it would cost to track down factory flaps. (Powerflow Roadsport Pro Fit in size #1)
  4. Hey Stan. By "Full glass" I meant windows all the way around. My heated windshield has a very fine pattern of tiny (and barley visible) vertical squiggly filaments throughout (would be more useful in MI than here in OR) The side mirrors came "heated" also. We had a pretty thick frost to begin our day here but I did not hit the road until after the sun melted it all off. I should get to try out these features soon enough. BTW my splash guards arrived from J C Whitney today and a test fit indicates that they will fit (saves tracking down a factory set and about $100) Thanks for the welcoming !
  5. Hey everyone. Glad to find a place where we can network to share info, tips etc. . . Getting right to it, my 2011 Wagon came nicely loaded but without splash guards. I went to Northwest Auto Accessories here in town to find a reasonable solution. After inputting "Transit Connect" the results came up as: 2 pair of Roadsport Pro Fit in size "1" ($29.99 per pack of 2) Unfortunately, I was not able to test fit an individual example unless I bought them and opened the package. Not eager to risk $60 on a "maybe", I passed on them until doing a little research. Online search landed me at J C Whitney where the same item came up as "guaranteed to fit Transit Connect" (gotta' like that !) The real bonus for not being impulsive at the accessories store was that J C Whitney was having a "free shipping" event and the guards were closeout priced at a little over $11 per pair ! Well under $25 for a full set delivered ! Wow ! I will be happy to post my success and satisfaction after they arrive and I have had a chance to mount them. Or. . . . you may want to grab some "no risk" before they are gone. Worst case scenario they are guaranteed returnable. My T.C.: XLT Premium Wagon (white) with full power options plus: full glass package with heated windscreen and mirrors factory Bluetooth equipped, voice activated audio system factory backup camera ( rear view mirror display) I was not looking for any of this extra stuff (but happy to have it now) My dealer discounted the $2000 sticker value of the camera, windshield and Bluetooth from the sale ! (crazy right ? Thanks to John the fleet sales manager at Courtesy Ford in Portland)
