  1. Here's a bit more explanation of the LIN/windshield wiper motors relationship (at least from my 2020 Wiring Diagrams). The motors basically have three wires: Ground, Power, and LIN. When a "Wipe" command is transmitted via the LIN, the motor operates. I believe for simplicity and failsafe reasons, it only operates for one sweep else "Wipe Start" and "Wipe Stop" commands would be required. The rear wiper motors take the more traditional three wires: Ground, Power, and Start Wipe. They seem to be controlled by the BCM but it isn't clear. The Climate Control circuit is more complicated.
  2. Yes it is. The LIN https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Interconnect_Network is non-CANbus and it may be difficult tracking down the message descriptions and finding interface devices. Probably better to control the BCM, etc via the HS and/or MS CANbus. I discovered two devices to accomplish this: Ford's Generic Function Module (Upfitter) and Intermotive's UIM, both of which require external software to program. Your first step will be purchase of a Wiring Diagrams manual, 1 1/2" of thin paper. Daunting... What Climate Control are you getting?
  3. After purchasing my used 2020 XLT, I immediately installed the AutoStart/Stop Disabler. I wanted to understand how it worked and was also thinking of installing a dash cam so I purchased the Wiring Diagrams manual. The TC is very much a CANbus vehicle (it has three). So I explored and found items of interest in Section 140: Customer Access circuits and Upfitter Generic Function Module. A bit more searching revealed the GAM is a nifty interface to the CANbus network and it is programmable with 9 inputs and 15 outputs. Judicious GAM wiring and programming enables sequencing with delays, etc. Cool! One of the safety/assistance features of more expensive passenger cars is perimeter lighting that illuminates the terrain near the car. Very helpful for us old folks to spot curbs, vegetation, etc trip hazards in the dark. And there's the bling! So I'm thinking of a multi-step process. First would illuminate the headlights/foglights and backup lights as well as the current lights upon certain keyfob presses. The lights would stay on for maybe minutes rather than a few seconds. Same with interior lights. Turning them off would be maybe 60 seconds after all doors closed or when the engine is started. These functions require programming only, no wiring additions except for delay relays connected to the GAM. Next would be added external UnderGlow lights along the sides and ends tucked under the bodywork. Wiring additions required from relays commanded by the GAM. Last would be additional interior lights under the dash (for front passengers) and the front seats (for rear passengers). Wiring additions required from relays commanded by the GAM. For powering the additional lights it looks like the F43 15A circuit assigned to the Taxi Roof Lamp would be a good choice. Thoughts, suggestions?
  4. I too switched to Black lug nuts (DPAccessories) although without a security key. However the cone face was shorter than the stock lug nuts so I only torqued them to 120 lbft rather than stock 150 lbft. What was your experience in this regard?
