I have gone up to 215/65 R16 tires on my 2014 TC, wondering if there is anyway to reprogram the speedometer so it reads accurately or am I just stuck the way it is? Thanks

Looking for a better ride

Well I have had the TC for a year now, have put 20,000 on it and have to say I'm all around pretty pleased with it. The mileage I'm getting is so much better than the E-150 I use to own. Two comments, Driver seat is kind of hard on the back, can I grab a seat out of TC passenger van and swap it in? I'm guessing the passenger vans have better seats? The rear doors, I swear, are designed to close no matter how I open them, swing them open quickly, they bounce close, open them gently, they close. I haven't figured out a way to defeat the return spring yet, any ideas? Thanks -
Why is my clock only advancing 2-3 min. a day?

Thank you sir, that did the trick. It's a small thing but it's just enough irritate. -
2014 TC 180,000kms, it doesn't matter how many times I reset the clock it won't work, I got it working last summer and it was good for a few months but then I had to disconnect the battery to install a new one and it went back to the way it was when I first got it. It advances 2-3 min per day. Do I have to replace the whole unit to fix it? Thanks

Thanks again, just watched a video on re-timing the 2.5L ? Lots of opportunity to screw up. -
Valve adjustment for the the 2.5 I4
skippyelwell replied to skippyelwell's topic in Maintenance
Thanks for the advice, that brings me to my second question. Is there a replacement mileage stated as to when the timing chain components need to be changed out? -
I've looking around for some info on valve adjustment for the 2.5L in my 2014 TC, so far I haven't found much. Specs for intake and exhaust, availability of shims, any special tools required? Thanks

I've always thought a cabin air filter was just a gimmick to get you to buy more stuff, at least until I pulled the cabin filter from my new 2014 TC! Wow, and this pic was after I had already banged out the leaves and dried wasps. Guess it is time for a new one.?

I'm sort of the same situation as you, I just bought a 2014 TC long and I don't think you will have any problem getting most of that stuff in there except the 4x8 sheets. 4x7, no problem, inside wheel well to wheel well is like 4'1/8" with all the inside plastic protectors removed. If you get the dedicated cargo van you could put a 4x8 sheet in if you prop it up on the top of the headrests but then everything else you're carrying has to move around it. I could take pics if that would help.

Fantastic, it's a footwell, of course. Makes perfect sense. A lot of US vehicles are sold used in Canada so I'm glad mine is just bolted in. Thanks for the links, some good ideas there.

I finally got the van home today and started stripping it out in preparation for a new wood floor and shelves. The fibreglass partition was the first thing to go and once I got the black mat up I saw the added piece of floor. This black screwed down floor extension, is it integral to the structure of the truck or can I modify it with hatch to access some of that unused storage space underneath? Thanks

To answer my question, most of what I'm looking for is here, https://garage.wiki/ford/transit-connect-van/second-generation-mk2/

Hmmm, well maybe I just need a new set of struts. -
Hi Guys, I'm picking up a 2016 Transit Connect tomorrow from the dealership and I'm pumped. I took it for a test drive yesterday and noticed the ride was very hard, can feel every bump. I'm not sure if all I have to do is replace worn shocks , the van has 92,000 mi on it at the moment but I was just wondering if there was a go to spring/shock combination that long time owners know about? It will be my work van so I will spend a lot time in it, I don't need super comfort but the way it is right now it's a lot harder riding than my old 2011 E-150. Thanks, Chris
