Need help with Bluetooth problem

I am having the exact same problem. I get the phone book on the display and can use voice commands to call by number but when trying to use the name feature I get Directory empty. I have an iPhone G3 paired with the system The Ford rep from Detroit was at my dealer yesterday and had no answer.
