I purchased my Ford Transit Connect last month. My primary reason was to provide transport for my small sound reinforcement system. I am in the process of resizing the system so that it all just fits into the Connect with the back seats folded up. I have already made several deliveries to venues in the French Quarter and the slender body width and maneuverability are paying off big time. However as I am a bit of a gadfly I am finding many other uses for it as well. This weekend my BFF is driving it to Houston loaded with Big Easy Rollergirls (and their gear) for a tournament there. In two weeks I will mount a roof rack, portable generator and a few of my JBL loudspeakers on top and be a sound truck regaling the crowds with DJ music in a couple of the big parades for Mardi Gras celebrations. Once a month we load it up with our Art Market crafts and tents and tables at the Ferret Art Market in Mid City New Orleans. I will post some questions regarding the sound truck application in the proper locations as my application is going to be very much a specialized custom use of the vehicle.
