The sensor is a whole unit, it cannot be serviced individually. It submits resistance readings based on weight to the airbag ecu to tell it if there is weight (occupied) or unoccupied. I disconnected the sensor and the light is instant on upon start up. Reconnected it and it comes on while driving but is off after initial start up test. I cannot afford the $989 Ford wants to replace the cushion which does not include installation and programming. It DOES require weight programming so this is not user replaceable without proper tools, weights and programming computer. This does not include the $120 that Ford wants to charge to diagnose the sensor. This is unaffordable for me. If I went through the repair, I could end up spending $1800 just to replace a seat cushion. It upsets me that this is not under a recall.

Hi, I have a 2016 Ford Transit connect XLT with a B00C0:11AB or B00c0:11-28 SRS codes and according to my dealer, it'll cost $989 just to replace the airbag sensor which is now installed in the cushion, so the cushion has to be replaced as well. In case you need to know, the B00C0:11AB code reads Passenger side occupancy sensor A short to ground. That relates to the weight pad in the seat that tells the SRS system whether the seat is occupied or not. Given that there is no recall on the weight sensor and that the SRS light disables the entire SRS system, it's cheaper for me to get an emulator that tells the SRS ecu the seat is occupied vs replacing the weight sensor. I am located in the US in Wisconsin so I hope someone on here can tell me where I can buy an emulator for the weight sensor? I appreciate everyone's help and hope to fix this issue ASAP as I don't want to be driving too long with the SRS system disabled.
