  1. Hello, I recently bought a 2018 transit connect and have while I can connect my phone to the stereo via Bluetooth it loses connection almost straight away. I think it is a basic model and so doesn't have the sync 3 that I have read about. I have attached a picture of the radio. There is nothing in the settings of the radio to perform a factory reset, so I decided to pop the fuse out and put it back in, hoping that would reset it. This didn't work, much to my disappointment after doing battle trying to get to the fuse box hidden behind the glove box (why it needs to be in such an awkward place I don't know). Sorry I'm rambling. If anyone has any tips on getting the bluetooth working I would very much appreciate it. I wouldn't mind so much, but there isn't even somewhere I can plug an aux cable in.
  2. So my aux is only playing sound on one side of the vehicle. If I push on the aux cord going into the Jack it will play both sides but only if I have pressure on it. Fm and everything plays fine it’s just aux so i’d imagine it’s a wiring issue. Where should I look and what should I look for for this wiring issue? My aux port could be too short possibly as well. Thanks guys
  3. Recently I had to jump my van and it fried the amplifier in the head unit. They have problems in all Fords. My brothers focus and my mothers escape are just beginning to have the issue now. I want to just upgrade to a new radio where the CD player and Head unit are now. It looks like there are kits sold to accommodate my wishes as far as the trim around the interface, But I'm having a hard time finding a plug and my module that allows me to connect a new head unit but keep functionally of my steering wheel controls I can find them for models without the 4.5" lcd screen but not with If anyone knows of a good module I would really appreciate it. Also a good new head unit that might fit well and connect easily. I want to add an amp and subs so if I can just get a new stock head unit and add subs to that then I would also go that way Let me know what you think
  4. Ok so here is a good 1st world problem that's twisting my knickers - I have the "fancy" radio in a 2020 TC from work love this vehicle, want to steal it etc. I always use a bluetooth headset, specifically the trucker / telephone operator kind - the kind that goes over one ear, over your head, and has a boom mike when driving because honestly I find them to provide the clearest calls. Having the single ear coverage also helps overcome the lovely sound of our less than polished highways out hear. Never had a real problem with this arrangement until sync 3 came into my life. This particular radio sadistically wants to handle my calls. It is relentless. It is trying to get me killed. I would just un-pair the iPhone from the sync monster *but* I also use the iPhone to send streaming radio and podcasts there. So I need a way to tell sync monster 3 to back off and only use the iPhone as a media player and not as a phone. I've already tinkered with the accessibility / audio routing settings on the iPhone but that hasn't solved the problem. Does anyone know a trick for this? Also who in their right mind - what AUTO designer - thought touch screens were anything other than a homicidal act? Seriously. Drivers need to feel, not ever ever look. thanks for the bandwidth - keeping the fingers crossed for an easy fix.
  5. Does anyone know if there's a definitive way to determine if your Connect radio has Bluetooth/sync or not? This is the radio in my 2013 Connect XLT cargo and it has the phone button on it. The manual says if when you push the button and it displays "No Phone," it means there is no phone paired with Sync. Then it says to push OK, to pair a phone. OK is the #6 station preset and it just changes the channel.

  7. I have a 2015 transit connect with the base radio ( usb centre slot and Bluetooth )and steering with buttons only on one side. is it a straight swop to install the leather steering with buttons on both sides ?
  8. My AM/FM CD player has died in search of a new/used unit for a 2014 transit connect anyone have one
  9. This XLT has a open package shelf; I've seen photos of XLT with doors on the shelf, but not on this one. In the center of the shelf, there's a knockout that looks like it is for an overhead radio installation option. Behind it is a plastic shield to keep shelf contents away from the radio. What radio option was this? Is there a power connector up there we could use for other electronics? Failing that, what other power options are up there? Is the shelf difficult to remove/replace?
  10. Is this a common problem? What's the best fix? The radio works fine, but I don't know what station I'm on, or what time it is.

  12. Well, I've poked around here a bit and, while I've seen swap-out alternatives and all kinds of help and advice (which really ROCKS to have so many people able and willing to guide from their Transit experiences), I haven't come across (or I plain-old just missed) a thread about retro-fitting an older Transit with the new SYNC. You could say I'm kind of "out of the loop" on these things. Then again, I've owned my Transit for over a year now and, honestly, that time's passed in something of a blurry flash for me. I've put 20K on the odometer, carried sound/lighting equipment all over the state (FL) and even been in a parade with it in Atlanta last year (before anyone asks: www.flickr.com/photos/tyrusflynn/6697348389/in/photostream :-p) So while looking for a reference pic of my little silver space ship I came across the attached pic as part of a Transit listing. Serious news to me that Ford has listened to us and added SYNC as an option for 2012! Since the radio has been something of a HUGE disappointment to me (I'm a professional DJ and run an event production company), and given that I rather like the SYNC in my friend's Fiesta, I'd -love- to hear any input people might have about the viability of retrofitting a new Transit SYNC into my 2011 dash. And, yes, I'm not afraid of getting dirty, I know how to wire vehicles and I have opposable thumbs in good working order. ;-)
