Double Nickels got a reaction from jrm223 in How the heck do you jack one of these things up?
Liability. They recommend 4 jack points and leave it at that. Anything else you do, they are not liable.

Double Nickels got a reaction from sKiZo in Carpeting the rear
Is it soundproof? If some was in the back of the van, screaming, would the cops be able to hear?

This is one of the best mods so far. Very creative.

Ozark Trail is a Walmart brand. Anyone selling it on Amazon is reselling at a markup.

Double Nickels got a reaction from FDLFDC in Anyone else in line for a 2019 Diesel XLT Connect Wagon?
Not me. I would start looking into a Lemon Law lawyer. They took your money. You got an item which does not perform as promised.

For whatever reason, not many PY24W lamps available.
Every other lamp is readily available.

Double Nickels got a reaction from jrm223 in What to look for in a used 2016
If buying used, the factory tow package has the trailer light harness installed as part of the tow package. On trucks, there's usually an auxiliary transmission cooler, engine oil cooler, and sometimes better brakes. I am not certain, but I don't think the Transit Connect tow package has much more than the hitch receiver and light harness. The factory installed tow package is not an indicator that the van was used for any towing at all. I once bought a truck with a tow package, because I wanted other features that came with that truck. I never towed anything with it. The next owner got a factory tow package which was never used to tow.

Wow. It's already chilly. 8°. It's about 24° here.

Double Nickels got a reaction from eggman14 in adding a spare wheel carrier to lwb Connect
You won't be able to mount a 2nd spare under the van. You will either carry it inside, or mount it on the roof. It's too much weight on the rear door hinges.
Look for something like this. Make sure that it will accept the bolt pattern.

Double Nickels got a reaction from dirt huffer in Trans Temp Gauge on 14+?
A lot of options via OBDII . Plenty of free and paid apps. Or you can use a Scan Gauge or scan tool.
I am using Torque Pro. FORScan is better, but only for Ford. Torque Pro will work on other cars.

Double Nickels got a reaction from jrm223 in UK mirrors for US Transit Connect
Sounds like a business opportunity. mrtn can acquire, then facilitate shipping. But what is it worth? Would you pay a reasonable mark up plus shipping? I recall how people in Japan did that with JDM parts. Those people thought it was worth it to get parts not available in the USA.

Of course, the real question is, do you trust the computer algorithm?
Some people say that once you add oil from the bottle, even if you're not driving it, the oil oxidizes. In a calendar year, the oil and/or additive pack has degraded. This is why oil labels say 1 year. This is why the computer will signal you in 1 year.
Some people believe that the oil they are using will not have that problem. A lot of people feel that certain higher prices motor oils are better and will not degrade.
You can send in an oil sample for analysis.
I usually buy motor oil based on what I can buy cheap. And I have gone over 1 year between oil changes. The car did not blow up while driving on old oil. But that doesn't mean I did the right thing. I can't measure if the old oil was oxidized, or if any damage was done.

Double Nickels got a reaction from dirt huffer in Transit Connect top speed?
But it would be interesting to see 1/4 mile times in real world conditions. Is anyone street racing? Has anyone set up an app to measure 0-60 and 1/4 mile times?

I find the opposite. Today, with dashkits and harnesses, it's plug and play. Much easier than before.

You should always wear protection. Going bareback is not advised in today's world. You never know where these chicks have been.

mrtn,
I don't think you have an issue. As I monitor mine, I see even higher temps.

With what I have seen, with most cars that allegedly have weak transmissions like Honda's, is that most transmissions that fail also have contaminated fluid. A lot of those trannies could have had a fighting chance, if the fluid was exchanged.
For the 6F35, the number I keep seeing is 30,000 miles.
