  1. 2012 transit... 1st gen.  the fog lights are turned by pulling out the headlight switch while in the 'headlight on'  position.  you will get a nice orange 'fog' indicator light on the dash board display..  I actually dont have fog lights, (on the list) . but pulling out the switch energizes the lights in the back,, making the truck more visible to following vehicles...i think i am going to use this feature routinely at night...

  2. I had to change a burned out Brake light bulb so i thought i would try LEDs.  Sylvanias  were a direct fit, and the package said (in small print) for off road use only.... they don't seem any brighter (its a sunny afternoon) so i guess i will try them out for a while then get back.  Oh, while checking out the tail lights I discovered that the bottom set of lights come on when the FOG setting is on....nice to know....I still haven't bled the brakes... seems all i have read and seen on Youtube,  indicates vacuum method at  the wheels is fine,,, as long as you DO NOT  get air in the ABS pump....

  3. I am ready to bleed the brakes on my TC...  no issues really, just routine preventative maintenance.  i have read conflicting opinions on the procedure for  bleeding ABS brakes.  ( i use vacuum pump at each wheel, bleed slowly and top up the master frequently.  this works well for all my previous cars but none had ABS...any thoughts?

  4. I have been enjoying my time with my . RED TC 2012!  pleased with its drivability and decent fuel economy.  Last week i was doing under hood clean up and found BAD rusting under the caulked front edge of the hood ..  i scraped away the caulk and found this:  cleaned and scraped loose rust and applied several coats of Rustoleum Rust Preventer.  I will keep an eye on whether or not it really stops the rust as advertised....members might want to check this area... i assume i am not the only one with this issue...0?ui=2&ik=62442e916a&attid=0.1&permmsgid

  6. Decided to  buy the  Gen 1 Connect  XLT  I was looking at!   ( 2012, RED, with 39k on the clock, super well maintained) .  thank you all  for feedback on my earlier questions.  so far its all good,  i have a short list of things I want to do... soundproofing and 'rattle chasing'  being pretty high on the list.   also want to remove and replace bulbs with Cree LEDS... pics when i get a chance...

  7. HelloI am new to Forum.. I have test driven a 2012 TC  XLT cargo.  everything works as it should and it is low miles.  It has a LOT. of rattles and 'noises from the front and back as it goes over rough pave.  i kind of expected that, but the most concerning is a 'clunk' from the right front.. ( bad strut???) . the sales guys said the mechanics checked out everything after i mentioned this on first drive.  he said everything ok...  no better on second drive.... i am ok with rattles, but the Clunk worries... any thoughts?
