  1. They're call Software Engineers. Wouldn't you like to shoot one in the kneecap about right now? I know I would.?
  2. Oooh! I had missed this! Here's hoping one day you will post a video with sound so we can all hear what that sounds like. Pretty please?
  3. I find two XLT passenger wagons at Battlefield Ford in Manassas, Va. Race Red. Have no Idea where you are and don't know what you consider "loaded". Ford is going to limit your search so they can keep the stealership in control. I suspect the salesman did not divulge the location of that "one Race Red Titanium". Decide how far you want to travel, be patient and search within that area.
  4. My '16 XLT cargo didn't come with any caps front or rear so I'm assuming it is a "sealed" system. Leastways I couldn't see any caps in the rear. but the view was partially obstructed with some spacers I have on there. Didn't look like it, but it was cold when I stuck the snow tires on and I was in a hurry. Anyways, the caps are purely for looks.
  5. Center caps arrived and look very good indeed. A little bit too small just as Bocephus205 says, but I have a different plan.
  6. I remember looking at those as well, nice looking wheels. Problem was 16s are only available in 7" wide and I need wider for the rears. These Mercedes wheels are also in that price range....not exactly cheap. Looked at the 17s of those also but couldn't get enough tire under the wheel to make it look right. In retirement I have much more time to sit around dream up this stuff but a lot less money to actually do it! Budget, budget, budget. I am working on that aspect but the wife's theory is that tires and wheels are black and round and take you from point A to Point B, nothing more. But a Wheel Whore will prevail.
  7. After nearly 2 1/2 years of searching, I think I have finally found a set of 16x8, 5 spoke, CHROME wheels that I can fit on to the TC. The specs are 16x8, 5x112 bolt pattern, +62 offset, 66.6mm center bore. Would have to use adapters although the temptation to try and use PCD variation nuts is strong. That's probably pushing the envelope too far though. The high positive offset will allow me to adapt up without pushing the wheels too far out. With a 15mm thick adapter I can get an effective +47 offset, or with a 20mm thick adapter an effective offset of +42. Reason for the 16x8 is I have a pair of 295/50R16s and they are squeezed down currently onto 16x7.5 rims. Which is ok, but a little tight and the wheels are not chrome. Whereas today's generation may not be that fond of chrome, I come from the Chrome Age. Of course a major hurdle still to cross is the costs involved.
  8. Waze Personally, I don't use any GPS seeing as how I know how to read a map and find my way. My phone gets turned OFF when I drive anywhere not so much to avoid tracking but I just don't need the distraction of it going off. No tracking is just a bonus.
  9. My idea is to use a full size futon mattress with dimensions 53" x 75" should fit just about perfect. Put in the platform in in two pieces with the "rails" that collapse with piano hinges. No real furniture since all I really need is a bed with storage underneath, a little bit higher than what yours appears to be. I want to be able to take it in or out as I choose with a minimum of effort so I can continue to haul things when not road tripping. I suspect it will end up looking more like a 70s hippie van (no disco balls or all that silly crap) than it will a true camper. I'm a big fan of simplicity.
  10. In this pic I was looking a the simplicity of your platform bed. I think I can expand on this and make it removable and storable and still keep it sturdy without being too heavy to move. Storage space at the Sunnyside Beach Cottage Retirement Home (my little beach house) is kind of scarce.
  11. I was looking at it. Always a little leery of freeware, but I might give this one a shot.
  12. Wish I had Photoshop but I don't rent software. I've seen a couple things on yours I definitely intend to steal. Just letting you know. Ideas I mean, don't sit up at night looking out the window.
  13. This gives me a possible idea when I get around to insulating and paneling my cargo van.
  14. I've seen people put air horns on VW Beetles back in the day.....just for fun. Surely James is joking about the respect part.
  15. Even the EDRs are a direct invasion of my privacy with no way to disable them. Not much different from wiretapping my home with no warrant and then saying "That's ok, we can only use it with a court order."
  16. I'll keep my data to myself, thank you. No Wi-Fi or cameras in my vehicles....now or ever. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/carmakers-are-collecting-your-data-and-selling-it/
  17. Hmm...smiles...grunts....scratches. I think I'll keep my patented Sexy Girl Calendar method. Her rhythm looks a lot better than some old computer algorithm.
  18. The shop didn't reset mine at first oil change (5k) and it came on right at 9.5k which makes sense since the manual states not to go more than 500 more miles without changing oil and never to exceed 10k. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that it is set at 9.5k and one year intervals. You'd have to show proof to get me to believe that the input parameters are anything more than mileage and/or time.
  19. Me too. I once had a bug in my backup assist system........but I just rolled down the window and brushed him right off the mirror.
  20. I really like the looks of those rear windows. They may not give you as much visibility as stock windows, but to me they add a certain "charm". ?
  21. I was under the impression that the feedback was simply mileage. After reading the Scheduled Maintenance section in the manual I still think so, but Marketing would seem to want you to believe otherwise.
  22. BTW, I need a refresher course in how to turn off the traction control feature. I know, I know, try the RTFM command first.?
  23. I have say I didn't get the same impression from my '16, which makes me wonder if there is a significant difference between the snow handling of the Gen I vs Gen II. In all fairness the two times I have even had it out in the snow (and not much snow at that) the tires were not made for snow. Couple weeks ago I put some snow tires on it even though we don't get that much snow in Virginia. We'll see how much difference that makes.
  24. A loaded cargo van rides much smoother than an empty one. The end game is what you should be looking at, that is how much of a load do you intend to carry instead of when it is empty. Sidewall height on the tires also will affect the ride and once again anticipated load factors into choice of tires and tire size. Compared to other cargo vans I have driven the TC rides like a Cadillac to me.
