  1. Cargo vans have a false floor above the middle passenger footwell and that's what the partitions mount to at the bottom. Best bet would be figuring out some sort of DIY or fabrication shop-made mount or filler section that can extend the partition to your deeper floor and still utilize that well space for carrying stuff. The alternative is to get all the pieces (from a wrecked van) that cover up the middle footwell so you can mount the cargo partition in the "factory designed" method.
  2. The plastic came off relatively easily for me, I just took my time and separated the adhesive a little at a time. Cutting the glue would work, too. I never did put the plastic back on and also replaced the panels with .024 black aluminum diamondplate (black van, not white).
  3. I insulated my solid (windowless) rear barn doors with Roxul rockwool on the bottom half of the doors, and the little wiring cavity that's about halfway up the wall behind the plastic panels, too. One of these days, I might get around to insulating more of my van using Rmax foam panels for the larger areas.
  4. There's an old thread in the forum that has information about some specific resistor values that are used to 'fool' the airbag system into thinking the passenger seat is still present, after you remove it. I tried the resistors on my gen 2 2015, but the G1 values didn't work for it, so my passenger seat is still in. Works out well now that I have a g/f and need that second seat anyway, haha.
  5. I had problems with that service interruption thing a couple weeks ago when I needed to reprogram my BCM for OE tire size (I was running 215/65R16 for a few years), after updating to the newest version at the time, 2.3.43. As a test, I removed x.43 and downloaded/installed 2.3.41 off their website and it worked perfectly fine on my 2015; I didn't try 2.3.42, so I can't say if it's affected by the issue or not. Going back a version or two is the quickest and easiest way to go, IMO.
  6. 2005mm is an old limit that has been resolved in current versions of Forscan for a year now, I was able to correct my speedometer/odometer for 215/65R16 tires. That said, my General Grabber AT2's are near worn-out with something like 62-65K miles, so I'm going back to OEM size after the other pair of tires from Tire Rack arrive (sent in pairs that got separated during shipping).
  7. To summarize, I had installed the new steering wheel, used Forscan to activate CC only and then went for a drive to test/verify functionality - but CC didn't turn on at all. I went back in to Forscan, activated ASC (even though my 2015 US van is too old to have the equipment for it), and went for a drive again - CC worked perfectly fine, on/off, up/down via buttons, etc. Obviously, it does not automatically adjust speed like ASC should (not that I give two turds), but for whatever reason my van needed both of those activated for the CC alone to work.
  8. I'll have to see what other people say, I've never replaced the one in my '15 TC with nearly 140K miles now. Granted, I could probably count the times I've used the A/C on just one - maybe two - hands! But it's making that weird noise that I've seen some others mention, so I know there's some cleaning & likely new filter needed.
  9. Ceramic tint keeps the interior around 40*F cooler and essentially works 24x7. In comparison, black versus white paint only makes about a 6-7°F difference inside the vehicle (with a time limit because eventually they hit a plateau of equal temperature, all else being equal) - most people attempting to argue color difference use an IR non-contact thermometer on the outside in an attempt to prove their point, which is irrelevant and shows their ignorance.
  10. Walmart will not mount oversize tires on these vans because of liability. I ordered my General Grabbers from them, then ended up having to take the tires to another regular tire shop to get mounted. At least the dealership gave him a release/waiver of liability to sign instead of sending him elsewhere.
  11. Those recommendations are specific to standard vertical tanks, his clearly says "Horizontal cylinder - this side must face up". It should definitely get mounted, though, so it's not able to move around on it's own. Some nutserts in the floor and matching bolts would take care of that.
  12. I bet it's a configurable option in the BCM, accessible via Forscan with an OBDII adapter. I've never looked for it, though, since mine does stay on all the time already.
  13. Some other forum member had reported a long time ago that there is some wind noise in the second row if the trim piece is missing. Obviously, you likely won't notice any extra wind noise up in the front seat with a cargo van. But if you do suddenly get some strange new noise while driving, that'd be the spot to start.
  14. Unless Ford has changed something with the more recent ones, the factory 12V plug should stay hot at all times, unless something is drawing the battery voltage down too low & then the BCM turns off the 12V power port. My 2015 TC 12V is always on, I have even found my Sirius add-on radio turned on after not driving for a couple days, accidentally left on after my last drive.
  15. Oh, you should definitely talk to some companies about inventing some anti-reflective coating or film that can be applied to the windshield to improve forward visibility and reduce interior glare and reflections! Transit Connect owners are just scrambling for market share in that product segment.
  16. I take it that you missed the little asterisk * next to "Rear Dome lamp" that says *Vehicles with panoramic roof., right?? Do you have a panoramic roof? My cargo van doesn't, so it had regular incandescent cargo light bulbs.
  17. That's how the American-sized plates fit on all these vans. The mounting holes in the door are right for Euro-size, but too low for American-size. I've seen a picture or two before of someone that made new holes in their license plate to raise it up higher, lol. Apparently there's also a plastic license plate adapter sold on Amazon that will mount to the Euro-holes and then raise the American plate higher up by an inch or two.
  18. As I recall, the owners manual lists roof limits of about 220 lbs for LWB van, I think 200-210 lbs SWB van, 185 lbs limit for panoramic skylight roof on wagon. Obviously, as already discussed, that weight limit applies to driving down the road and generally applies to legal liability (low limit from manufacturer to remove their liability from the actions of the end-user/driver), not sleeping in an RTT while the van is parked.
  19. That won't work, others here have already tried. The light is controlled by the BCM via CANBUS and doesn't have "traditional" hot & ground wires.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if the fuse location for it is in the fuse block behind the glovebox.
  21. I can't speak to the KTM, but both of my cheap Chinese street-legal dual sports fit into my 2015 TC LWB - with the mirrors taken off them, lol. The main issue is at the rear door D-pillar, since that doorway hangs down a bit lower than the inside of the ceiling/roof. 2014 Bashan Storm 250 & 2020 Tao TBR7, if you'd like to compare specs against the KTM. tbrown, you are comparing US-spec generations of TC. Andyh is in the EU, where what we call the first-gen TC came in like 2 different wheelbases and 3 roof heights, where the US only got the LWB "high-roof" version of that model, as I recall.
  22. Yes, Forscan. They finally released an updated version back around fall 2020 that allows a lot more circumference selections for the tire size. That was the only setting I changed related to tires and the speedometer/odometer reads correctly now. There is a "tire size" setting, but I couldn't figure out how/where to input the "Customer tire size" as it was called in Forscan, so I left it at the old tire size and haven't messed with it since.
  23. I can say that the black van is mine, lol. I'm not sure on the white one with black false floor, I remember the pics but not the user.
  24. Yes, the Euro-spec ones have it above the instrument cluster, not above the radio. Maybe Yonkk confused/thought it was the center since the one pictured is actually RHD, where our US passenger obviously sits on this side of the big pond. Edit: Wait, looking at the first post again, I realize Yonkk removed his own center cover. But, still the wrong spot for the Euro-spec cubby hole.
