If you are committed to the project get a spot weld cutter and you can take it out neatly .If you want to go the other way it is not a big deal to weld it back in as long as a neat removal was done.

When mine does that it is usually a result of a low voltage start. I disconnect the bat for 5 Min's and that usually triggers a correct reset soon. This has been happening to me for 10 years . Good luck and keep us posted.

Plenty of time in Maryland some time in Mid December would be good unless you have a trip to the Mtns. planed for a holiday or skiing!
Here in Northern New England some time around Thanksgiving is the norm.
The mud and snow and cold are similar to Estonia, but we can't get the cool headlights here!

It could be that cold damp weather and mud is better for struts than Sunny hot and dusty weather?

Try this put all the fuses and Relays, Then disconnect the battery for 1 minute and see if that does a reset. I use this when the battery gets low and the clock won't reset. It might help.

All the doors have drain holes along the bottom edge over time they plug up with debris. Clear the holes and the water will drain.

The ones that seem to last and last have the 2.5. Mrtn has a 1.6 running Propane he would know how that power holds up.

Mine is at 152450 and counting if that helps!

If all that was done, you need a scan of the ABS and the Traction control.
Go to the settings and turn off the Traction control and take it for a ride , see what happens
Waiting for the reply !

The only thing I would add it might be worth Doing a Transmission relearn to see if the shifting is a function of how the van is used. I am also a big fan of Triax Universal Trans mission fluid ti seems to hold up very well and the transmission seems to like it.

Check the Tow as that is the easiest to check and if there wasn't enough it would in crease the wandering.
-
Check the main fuse at the battery, and all of the connections in between.

What are the O2 sensor codes? How old is the battery, a low or bad Bat sets lots of Codes.
-
One of these would have helped with the O2 sensor

was hoping to have torque values for them so I don't over torque them bolts..
The most important thing to torque is the lug nuts to prevent warping the rotors. caliper bolts are in the thirty lb range.

Car company's are cheap if it isn't cosmetic then they put it there for a reason. Not much money they should have sprung for the parts!!

Just saw this . A 1400 lb trailer weight would be fairly common for me. I bet I have been close to 2000 Lbs on many occasions .
