  1. IF you go for the cargo van, put in a roof vent. Otherwise get the wagon model, the side door windows fully open. Use some reflectix or blackout curtains on the windows.
  2. Do a search here. There was post with ALL the dimensions in a brochure for customizers. Body builders layout book. Just checked the title on my copy. I'm looking at using a SWB for some camping using a platform to stow gear under and a double bed air mattress. The air mattress will overhang a little and I'll have to lay the front passenger seat down for my feet ;(
  3. Talked to the dealer service department, they say mine does NOT come with the tow recovery hook. Confirmed via ford national customer service that's true. Dealer parts department is researching the part and is to call me back with the cost. Maybe the "required by some countries to be supplied" means European ones but not the US. Parts dept. called while I was typing. I think it was near $40 and is only listed thru 2013. So he's ordering one that we will test fit. If it fits, I was it. Said he's sold several recovery hooks to Escape owners that have a similar setup. If it wasn't for the left hand thread, I'd just by some forged rigging eyes and use those
  4. Got the 2014 Transit Connect stuck in about a foot of snow beside a sloping driveway while picking up a friend. Wife brought over the Expedition & I could NOT find the damn screw in tow hook anywhere. Ended up putting a ball mount in the receiver hitch and wrapped a strap around that and I had to yank the transit out at a right angle due to limited space and heavy traffic. Could have yanked it straight forward If I had that tow hook. ? Looked in both rear side storage areas. NO storage area in the area showed in the owners manual. Any ideas, do I have to buy one? Cause that's pure B.S.
  5. Bummer, so much for that idea
  6. Could you post a couple pics of the sidewall mounted rings? I'm thinking about if it's possible to add these to the wagon version and wondered about their exact location.
  7. The camping conversions look taller than my new 2014 TC swb wagon. We're they taller pre 2014?
  8. Replaced seat bracket seems to have fixed the noise prob BUT haven't driven it much since due to snow. Actually the snow's not bad yet but I just washed it again and don't want it setting around for long periods with road salt coating it
  9. I think the aires bar looks cheesy, sorry. I love that UK bull bar but don't want to pay the full cost to the US and then have to make modifications to it to make it fit ;(. I don't know why a US maker hasn't come up with one.
  10. The smaller (1/3) rear seat in my 2014 makes a terrible noise. I had to isolate the problem for the dealer. They are planing on swapping out the seat clamp bracket. Hope it works. VERY annoying

  12. Update. The transit connect WITH towing package is rated to tow 2000 pounds. It comes with a 2x2" receiver and electrical jack.
  13. Ford now lists a rear parcel shelf that fits the rear brackets. Runs about $120 or more.
