I second this notion! I've been slapping myself repeatedly over the last few months for not downloading/archiving some of the links I bookmarked for my upcoming "build." Just thought I'd give it another check today and IT'S UP!! Phew!!

Thanks to all those responsible :)

The headliner is soft and will not be able to hold much weight.   You can easily get common hooks from a hardware store.  They usually have them for closets, bathrooms, and such.  You can easily attach them with hollow wall hardware, the same way someone would mount a hook on the wall in their home.  But once you put a few pounds on it, it will probably fail.

Hi all, I have a 2020 Transit Connect and am enjoying doing a "van build" with it! It is not metal inside, it has the liner.  How does one put up hooks on the wall with a liner? I have used velcro to place some little curtains up; being light weight, they stay well. But I wish I could fasten a couple things to the walls/ceiling and don't know how. I also know I have to be careful near the front about the airbags, to not puncture the walls up front and maybe setting off the airbags. I'll put up a couple pictures to give an idea (this shows the ceiling, that includes the lining I'm talking about). I am also going to copy this post and place in another topic area that may be more correct. I can't find answers to this anywhere! Everywhere I look they show the cargo vans with the metal interior, not lined as I have. Thank you!

Every one I have replaced since the late 90s have never shown any cracks or wear. My plan is to replace them every 10 years since I will not exceed 100,000 miles. I think the good-old-days of a broken fan belt are long gone.

I too have looked for this information and mostly they claim it's good for 150K miles/10 years but there's no way I would stretch it like that. Pun intended.

It's absolutely essential to have the metal roof insulated in a camper.

2010 has a different trans. There are plenty of videos in youtube showing 6F35/6F55 drain and fill. It's very easy when you have the long neck fill tool to reach the fill hole.

The second generation pre-facelift Connects like yours have a 6-speed automatic called 6F35 which are shared with many Ford (and GM) products, you can also follow 6F55 tutorials, it's the same transmission but beefed up for larger/more powerful vehicles.

Side note, cleaned my engine bay, looks much better. I did notice i seem to be missing some rubber thing that went around the fuel rail. Any idea what that is for?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new van. I also have a 2015, but a cargo model.
There is a SEARCH box in the upper right corner of the page that will give you timely answers to a lot of questions. A good place to start.
Don R is the upgrade wizard on the forum and his advice is always spot on.
    Good luck!

windguy got a reaction from sarah.thib in INTERIOR HANGING RACK
Back in 2015 I built a custom hanging rack inside the van to carry gear to the beach.
Recently a forumite PM'd with questions about the rack after seeing a pic of it on a thread.
Since I can't PM pics to someone, I'm posting a few pics here to help them along.

Below - Rack frame made with 2"x1"x3/4" pine, glued and screwed. the deck is 1/2" plywood. Covered with bulk carpet from HD, same that was used for the cargo flooring.

Below - rear bracket - Simpson strong tie from HD bent in a vise with a mallet to hang plumb. Mounting hole was created using an existing reinforced hole and tapping with threads.

Below - shows angle of bent bracket.

Below - front bracket - may have given that a slight bend as well, can't remember. Mounting hole used an existing hole - bolt/nut - Nut before bracket to hold bolt in place.

Below - view of rack from cab area.

Below - a view of a gusset that was added to each hanging bracket. Not part of the initial design but the rack had a slight sway front to back and was making a creaking noise. The gusset cinched up the rack nicely. Uses same strong-tie material.

Below - Ditched the LED cargo light that I had ordered with the van since the rack obscured it. Plus the light stays on for 10 minutes and I couldn't control it with a switch.
The LED bar lights are controlled with two switches: at the left rear and left sliding door. Very convenient to add task lighting.

    Congrats on your new van.
Getting a van delivered to the US has the advantage of having this deck bolted in rather than welded in if it was delivered to Canada or EU.
You have many options for capturing this foot well area for much needed storage in the TC.

Use the SEARCH function in the upper right corner of the page and you'll find lots of different solutions discussed over the years.
Below are a few links to get you started, which I found by searching "FOOT WELL".

All your mods look very cool. You've done a lot in a short amount of time.

Re tires, over the years there have been a sprinkling of posts on Geolander tires for offroading adventurers. Do a Search on those to get ideas.
See the thread below as well.
    Good luck!

The fact that your TC was unusual would make some people not good candidates to own it.  Here's a question did the conversion save money for you?
How Many K on it and is the body holding up.
This may be a good thing as the price to replace is artificially high.
Mine is closing in on 145000 (241000) mi and is passing the test.

The body is fine, as much as it can be in the rust belt, 148Mm on it (92Kmiles).
The LPG device is saving money, yes. Break even point is past.
Gasoline costs €1.7/L ($6.89/USgal) after the recent drop due to the world market stabilizing (was €2.1 a few months ago), LPG costs 74 cents/L ($3/USgal). My buddy driving an E-tron said LPG is cheaper than electricity per distance over here. Then again, electricity price is abnormally high at the moment.

I bought the Ford front and back splash guards for my 2022.  Used my Ford Pass points for the splash guards and floor mats which used up all my points.  Very easy to install.

Re Toaster, no worries there, for now. The mods apparently scrubbed his existence deleting all posts.

@paddy - welcome to the forum. Where are you located?

I added a storage compartment many years ago. It's a wonderful upgrade and I highly recommend it.

There are several threads on this forum that detail this upgrade from multiple forumites. Search and you will find more details.

The deck extension is made up of three parts. See pic below for more detail. The base is a bracket bolted to the floor, two or four bolts, can't remember. The other two pieces are decking that can be removed individually. Only about 26 bolts, not that bad.

Lastly and most import, not sure where you are located but this deck extension configuration is only for US based sales. Our friends to the north in Canada have indicated that their vans have this extension welded in place. I'm assuming that holds true for all sales outside the US, included Europe. The reason is because Ford wanted to skirt the Chicken Tax on imports to the US and needed to quickly be able to convert a wagon config for 2nd row seating to a cargo model. It wouldn't make sense building the van in the factory this way otherwise.

    Best of luck!

The parking sensors require a parking assist module (PAM). The module needs to be configured using Forscan or Ford's factory software FRDS. Plus I think the bumper needs to have the painted divots to house the sensors.

I surprised the Titanium trim does not have the sensors. Without sounding condescending...are you sure the sensors are definitely not there? Maybe they turned off from a setting in the speedometer display or SYNC?
