Center console

The center console is made up of three sections, the front floor console, the selector lever trim panel and the rear floor console section. Start with the rear floor section. Remove the two screw cover caps in the rear cup holder (the one with the divider) and remove the screws. Do not yet try to remove the console Next, you need to remove the lever trim panel to expose the front screws on the rear floor console. You will need to lift up the rear(the edge toward the hand brake)of the panel to release the clips. Once the rear is released, pull the panel towards you to release the front clips (behind the lighter and ventilation control). You do not need to remove the front (temp and fan controls) or rear(handbrake and cup holder) console. Now the screws holding down the front of the rear floor console are exposed. Remove the screws and you now have two of the three sections removed. This leaves the front floor console and it is the tough one to remove. On both sides of the console, along the edge of the carpet, pull outward to release the four retaining pins, two on either side. Then you have to detach the temp control and mode control cables at the heater core and evaporator core housing. Next pull the complete console away from the instrument panel releasing the ten retaining clips. Finally, remove the two electrical connectors from the controls. Good luck, it is a bit of a project!
