Left Power Window

Recommended Posts

Hello. I recently bought a 2012 Ford Transit Connect XLT Van. I am hoping that someone can explain why the left power driver's window goes down when the engine is restarted after shortly having been shut off. This

can be agravating when I shut the engine off for a short time when I get out to shut the gate to our property. Upon restarting the engine, this left window will go down and I don' t even press the window button. It was

also noticed that this problem occurs only when the elapsed time between shutting the engine off and restarting it is less than about 2 minutes. If the elapsed time is greater than about 2 minutes, the window will

remain up. This problem will also occur even if I remain seated in the vehicle with the door shut. Pressing the button to lock the doors before the vehicle is in motion doesn't remove the problem. If the design

engineers had a specific reason for this occurence, I would like to know what it is. Anyone that could give me a good explanation about this situation would be much appreciated. TCS.

I have a 2012 XLT premium Wagon and don't have that issue. Since I don't normally restart that fast, I just gave it a try several times and can't duplicate that happening.

I wonder if it is some type of programming?

Soon after typing in my blog entry on 25 January 2012, I drove my new 2012 Transit Connect to a local Ford dealer and told them about the window problem. Their technician investigated and discovered that a small

electronic part was faulty. It is located inside the driver's door. It consist of a relay module which includes other circuitry. They replaced it with a new one, and now the window works great. There is no longer any

more problem. I was impressed with the technician's expertise and confidence. The Ford Company did an admirable job of fixing this for me, and there wasn't any charge because my Transit Connect is still under

warranty. I would also like to thank "Nyvideo" who checked their own T.C. and wrote a reply for me.
