I am currently on my Fourth Transit Connect.

177,450 miles on this one, 2013 model year.

I certainly run many miles per year at about

65k ~ 70k annually. None have ever left me

stranded! came close the other day! On

Highway 65mph.  the truck starts sputtering,

made it to an exit. truck would stall, easily

would restart  vroom once and stall. I popped

the hood. disconnected a bunch of connectors

in front of engine. wiped clean and reinstalled.

(not really dirty). 2nd restart, I could keep it

running..... rough. at about 2200rpm. after

about 2 minutes, it started to smooth out. and

after 5 minutes, I could bring it down to Idle @

750-800 rpm. I have since put some fuel

Injector cleaner in the tank and ran a few

hundred miles since. If anyone has had any

similar issue??? Please provide any input you

can.  I was thinking Fuel pump & filter? but it

could have been spark coil packs? as it was a

damp/Rainy day.  If anyone has had any similar

issues? Your Input would be Greatly Appreciated!

I have heard that on the Gen 1's if the boot that seals the coil packs goes bad water collects in the Spark plug recesses and can cause a miss. How long since you have changed the Plugs?  It could be worth a look.
