  1. I wanted to upgrade my radio to get all the new gadgets such Navigation, Dvd player, to have Pandora from my Iphone, and for it to sound good in this vehicle. One of the first things i started on was the location for some bigger speakers and puting in the backup camera, as I was doing the radio install. Here is what I went with: Clarion NX404 one absolutely amazing radio, with Navigation, DVD, all kinds of hookups, Pandora, and more JBL GTO528 speakers for front doors JBL GTO638 speakers for the rear pods SSV Works speaker pods for Yamaha Rhino bed CMOS Rear View camera from ebay, with install cord made for the Ford transit, has plate led light Sound Ordinance B-8PTD underseat powered subwoofer (yes it needs this!) Metra 70-5523 wiring harness MicroBypass parking brake overide for Clarion Clarion CCAUSB USB extension cable, for nice location for USB hookup Metra 72-5600 speaker adapters for front speakers Metra 40-VW10 Antenna adapter Double Din mount kit To start off the speaker install, I found these great shaped pods meant for a Yamaha Rhino, SSV Works Yamaha Rhino Rear Bed Stereo Speaker Pods designed for 6 1/2" Speakers , turned out to be perfect for installing up high and having an angle that was just right for speaker placement. I removed all of the gray pushpins in the headliner for the back portion of the Transit. Once they are all removed, the headliner still has 3 straps holding it up in the middle, so it comes down a little, allowing my wires to get run (speaker wire, and backup camera rca + power cable). Right behind the sliding door, where the headliner drops down a bit turned out to be perfect spot. I used the pushpin hole located here to install a stud point out. Above this hole and slightly forward was a threaded hole, that turned out to be a 3/8 bolt thread. Could not find a metric bolt that would screw in to. I drilled a hole for the lower stud into the pod as the bottom mount, then drilled a hole in the headliner lining up with threaded hole, and matched that to the pod as well. Drilled a smaller hole for the speaker wire and mounted them back up. Pics enclosed to help show what I was doing.
