Jiquay got a reaction from herb in anyone ready to talk about the 2019 FTC?
I ordered my '18 specifically to get one with as little electronic crap possible.
The salesman tried to push my stereo up to sync, saying how convenient to hook it to my cellphone. I dropped my flippie DumbPhone on his desk & told him to give of the apps.

But I'd love a turbodiesel & manual transmission!

Yeah, I'm gonna trust the same minds that programmed my GPS to drive my car - the ones that say I can buy gas right across the street at a garage that hasn't sold gas since 1926, & that says my house (by address) is 7 doors down the street...

mrtn, at the grandparent level, the youngest to pass was 74 - paternal grandfather.
    He was born a bluebaby.
He was shot in Germany in 1916.
He went back to the battle & got hit with a mortar in '18 - he was placed with the dead on that day.
They told my grandmother she was crazy to marry him in '23 - he was only gonna live 5 years.
    He met all his grandchildren!
He died 50-1/2 years to the day after the WW1 medic gave him up for dead.

The other 3 totalled 274 years...

I have access to quite a collection of bumper jacks as we've used them for dozens of tasks at the country place.
They would be perfect for converting an FTC back bumper into a spoiler...

I suspected someone was stealing gas a few years ago - put a locking gas cap on my pickup truck.

About 4 months later, a colleague at work asked me about it.

"SHHH! You, me & the guy stealing my gas are the only two people who know about that!"

We've had DRL in Canada for 30 years & it's been in Sweden almost 50... huge reduction in collisions almost instantly on introduction, and no sign of fade-out with saturation.

Transport Canada has finally recognised a problem that came bout 10 years ago - the digital dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, DRL on, and not a rear marker light to be seen because the nut on the steering wheel never pulled on the switch to put a new wick in the taillamps.

2020 in Canada, DRL includes ALL running lights.

I actually run a courier route delivering meds to nursing homes.
Ill posts some pics of the parts TC I think I have a few of my van as well.
As far as any other issues I’ve had along the way, the third brake light died so I had to replace that around 350k .
The radio died around 275k “ I have the CD player with the sync system “.
Beleive it or not I didn’t even replace brakes until 400k and they still would’ve passed inspection. I had the trans serviced at 160k then I just changed the fluid once myself around 380k.
I’m on my 4th set of tires. That’s all I can really think of for now.

I also have a 2014 transit connect wagon that I’m fixing up.
    Here are some pics.
The white one is the parts unit.
The black one with the white hood is the one I’m fixing up.

Ill get some pics of my transit I use every day tomorrow for you guys.

Alright!  Good for you!  It will be worth the wait, if you get everything that you ordered.  Obviously, your order is based upon accessories and options.  I get that.  You're not simply buying a car.  You're buying all the stuff you want in the car.  How many features did you add in?  Which goodies did you ask for?  I'm sure you'll have fun playing with all your new toys.  I bet you can't wait.

Me?  I bought a car.  A car with nothing in the car.  An XL model without any add-ons or features.  If I can't live without it, I'll add it myself.  Opinions vary.  I bought a Long Wheel Base Wagon because I'm able to seat 7 people, at a very low price point.  I didn't expect any luxury for what I was paying.  And I knew going in, and confirmed with a test drive, that I was not buying a performance vehicle.  However, it suits my needs for efficiency and economy.  I can get a small group from point A to point B, and at a cost of $10K less than a more luxurious vehicle.  They don't like it?  They want leather seats?  They want Dolby Digital & IMAX screens, with leather, heated, massage chairs?  They can find another ride.

Finally got some wheels for the TC. 17x7.5 Ford Fusion with Bridgestone Potenza 215/50 tires. Too soon to tell if there is any handling difference but it sure looks better.

Yes  they are not the norm, and the ones with swing doors in the back are even harder to find. I was fortunate that a dealer in north eastern VT had exactly the right one in black.

Jiquay reacted to DCRCTX in Just purchased a 2018 Transit Connect!
Just purchase a Ford Transit Connect XLT LWB (passenger) from Planet Ford in Spring, TX.  I had just sold my 13 VW Golf TDI back to VW, and had been on the fence on a Connect as it's replacement. I'm opening a bike shop and figured I could use something bigger anyway. I looked at Titanium editions and loaded XLT's, and was even considering holding out for a 2019,  but the deal I got at Planet Ford in Spring today on this XLT helped make this decision easier....lol  It's Silver Metallic with Charcoal Black cloth interior. Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow.

    Options include:
    Pwr adj /fold/ heated mirrors
    Sync3 HD radio
    17" premium painted wheels,
    Front and rear sensors
    2 additional key fobs

Now to dive into the forums and figure out some tweaks, hacks, and mods I might want to implement. Thanks in advance for your contributions.

Jiquay got a reaction from BSUPC in WISH LIST!!!!
On my wish list is a button (a combination of buttons) on the remote that opens all the windows automatically as you approach the car in a hot parking lot.

I say "combination" because Honda had this for awhile - a friend found his car packed full of snow when he pocket-dialled his remote in the middle of the night.

Same weight as my Mazda B, & you'd think with 35 years of technology & aerodynamics, they'd find a way to save fuel on an 1800kg chunk of iron.  They haven't.

    But I don't miss doing tune-ups every 3500 miles... breaker-point ignition!

Just a quick note to say hello while I'm waiting for Ford to build my wagon...

(This may go on for a page or two...)

I ordered an XL Wagon two weeks ago, after noticing them on the streets for over a decade. I'm in my mid-50s & so far I've only owned two cars. I figure I'll only own two more before I hang up the permit, so I want THIS ONE to be new.  My first was a '69 Chevy & I loved the cameraderie of Old Chevy Owners waving to each other.  My latest is a '04 Mazda B & I'd need one of those suction-cup wavey hands in the window to cover all the other B pickups I see...

I rented a TC van to live with one longer than the 12 minutes the dealer gives you to "test drive," most of which is spent with the salesman yakking in your ear.  I found it quite nice - it's not a truck but it's not a car, either.  Passing semi-trucks don't blow it off the road and the Traction Control (on the '15 I rented) doesn't make you car-sick as it searches for asphalt in the snow.  (I hope the traction control hasn't been updated in the last 3 years...)

I camp in the back of my truck frequently, but I am also tired of going out with friends & having to wait for them to catch a bus when we change locations because the pickup has only 2 seats... And I didn't want "my father's" minivan. As I said, I like the "rare birds" of the road, & the other vehicles to suit my needs (Mazda 5, Volks Sportwagen) are all over the place.  So are TCs, come to think of it, but they've all got a logo where I will have Windows... 8-)
