That procedure works if you are rotating the tires, then it will know the front from the back because of the different tire pressure settings.

    But when I first installed snow tires on a spare set of rims I needed to perform the longer procedure that is as follows because of the new sensors;

    1) Make sure all tires are inflated to the vehicle’s recommended inflation pressures (found in the owner’s manual on the door placard).
    2) Turn the ignition switch to OFF then press and release the brake pedal.
    3) Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN (engine OFF) 3 times, ending in the RUN position. Do this within 10 seconds.
    4) Press and release the brake pedal.
    5) Turn the ignition switch back to OFF.
    6) Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN (engine OFF) 3 times, ending in the RUN position. Do this within 10 seconds.
    7) The horn should sound letting you know the vehicle has entered into TPMS relearn mode.
? Place the top of the TPMS triggering tool against the sidewall of the driver’s side front tire in the location of the valve stem. Press the left button, wait until the horn sounds, then press the right button to turn the tool off.
9.) Once the horn sounds, move on to the passenger side front tire and repeat the process. Each tire should only take 30 seconds or less.
    10) After the passenger side front tire has been learned, continue on to the passenger side rear tire and finishing with the driver’s side rear tire.
    11) You may now turn the ignition to OFF. If the horn does not sound, the sensors were learned successfully. If the horn sounds twice, then the process must be repeated because there was a malfunction.

If you dont have the TPMS triggering tool people say you can trigger each wheel by letting air out but I just bought the tool, its like $30 or something.

    I hope this helps

Yes, I put the TC in learn mode by using the ignition on/off sequence. Then I triggered each wheel by releasing air in the order prescribed.

I'm not real sure Will. I just tried this process a couple days ago twice and wouldn't take either time. Guess it wants me to go into the stealership to have it done. No thanks ?

I put a 12v power port and a USB power port in mine which is why I had it apart to take the photos. And I keep emergency supplies under the cover for the non-existent sunglass holder.

Just an update on the rack. I ended up moving it to the rear of the wagon which on the extended I could probably fit a couple more bars up there if I ever decided I needed it. With my hitch set-up, I don't think I ever will though, as I just plan to use the top rack for kayaks and mtn bikes and/or cargo carrier will go on the back.  Anyway, just recently installed these kayak carriers and seem to work well so far with plenty of clearance and although I haven't tried putting 2 kayaks up there yet, with these 58" bars I'll have plenty of room to fit a couple up there...3 if I get creative https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pair-Canoe-Boat-Kayak-Roof-Rack-Car-SUV-Truck-Top-Mount-Carrier-J-Cross-Bar/322350994133?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Most shops have a fluid exchange machine.

@ $269, I am tempted to buy one.  Shops will charge at least $150 for a transmission flush.  6 gallon capacity is 24 quarts.

    Outstanding !!!
Good to know the process, while time consuming, doesn't seem too difficult.
I'll still probably let some shop do it for me, when time comes to change it.  I have just fallen out of love with oils and messes and disposal.

I had the same issue with Thule square bars on my Subaru. The bars made all sorts of whistling racket when they were empty above 50 mph. I used a small 1/4" rope wrapped spirally around the bars about 3" apart for a test and that eliminated the noise. Then switched to 1/8" shock cord I ordered from Amazon with bowline knot loops at each end and they always stay taut. Whisper quiet!

doitdub reacted to Erbs in Brake wear
i got  a 2014 connect and the wheels are black within a week because of brake dust, i changed the disc and pads but i noticed the sliding pins that hold the calipers on where dry as hell so i made sure i used copper grease on all the pins.
basically when dry there is still contact on the pads causing excess dust, basically a tiny bind on the discs, its only a 2 year old van and ford never grease anything
once i had done all the replacements and everything greased up the brakes are now spot on and brake dust is minimal because the when braking and releasing the pins now slide back enough not to contact the pads
saving money in the future on premature brake and disc wear.
and to top it off i painted the calipers silver and they look brand new.

Today, I installed new Rabestos premium rotors, EBC Greenstuff pads, and Motul 5.1 brake fluid. It is too soon to determine just how good they are. I need about 500 miles to bed them in. One thing that I do have to say tho is a big THANK YOU to JWWOODY. I never could have installed that anti-vibration spring without your hint and taking the wheel off the other side to see exactly how the factory did it.
BTW, this youtube vid shows an great way to remove a stuck rotor. I tried everything on my old rotor. I spent hours burning, banging with a sledge and spraying p-oil. This method had the rotor off in mere seconds.

doitdub reacted to transitseatman in Transit Connect Campervan - The best TOAD / DINGHY?
What makes the 2014-Current Transit Connect such a versatile Camper van/vehicle? Let’s start with size, price, ease of driving, ease of storage, easy of cleaning in a drive through car wash, garage-able campervan, great gas mileage, low cost to insure, great daily driver, adaptability…. And they make a great TOAD / DINGHY!

What? An adaptable vehicle? What’s that? For many it is a daily driver- sell or trade in a vehicle for a campervan that can be used not only to camp but for the all-around vehicle. For others, it is a Campervan that also has a large area to haul items that would not fit in the truck of a car, for others it is a Campervan that can get you to the grocery store for shopping- load the refrigerator and be able to run other errands before heading home worried about food spoiling outside of a refrigerator, how about the trip to the park- stove cookware, food and cold beverages already packed…..always ready vehicle! How about the place to take the afternoon lunch nap in the parking lot at work- even a lunch getaway is a nice getaway when a nap is in order. Hmm, tent on wheels that does not need set up, torn down or dried out as soon as you get back from a trip.

How about the full timers, snowbirds, or folks with the big rigs that get parked for extended periods who pull a TOAD / DINGHY? The transit connect campervans are an excellent choice for a TOAD. Weighing under 4000LB these campervans are absolutely the most versatile TOAD / DINGHY’s available for those towing on a dolly. The only downside is they cannot be towed “4 down” for those who prefer the 4-down towing.

I don't use my 2010 TC behind an RV, but I did turn it into a little camper.   Works great.

Not wanting to hack large holes in the roof, I didn't install the roof vent / fan, but I did mount a Yakima roof rack and install a 190 Watt solar panel, solar shower, kayak rack, awning, and hitch-mounted bike rack.
I've also got a comfy bed mounted behind the passenger seat, a toilet, water supply, two tables (one that fold out of the wall), and a 120 Volt inverter.

I don't have an issue driving something huge, I do it every day at work, but I do appreciate the compact size of the TC for ease of parking, great fuel economy, and a good ride.

Being 6' 4" I really enjoy the extra headroom the earlier models have.  I can comfortably sit on my bed with my legs at a 90 degree angle below me, and not hit my head.
I can also kneel on the floor next to the bed, but this requires that I tilt my head down a little to avoid the roof above me.   Still, there's plenty of room for changing into / out of kayak gear, or getting ready for bed while camping.

My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is the super-stiff rear suspension.  I'm hoping I can find softer leaf springs to replace the cargo van suspension it currently has.
It's not a big deal on the highway, but bouncing down dirt roads while scouting out a good camp site, really beats the tar out of me!

Just wanted to show off the TCLWB
Installed some Thule bars and a Maggiolina Roof top tent, swapped interior lights to LED and thats pretty much it for now.
We can use it as a daily driver and it sleeps 4 if we want to go camping and hit some trails
