  1. Slippery seat angle

A case could be made that sliding toward the steering wheel isn't safe either. Maybe you're a 5th percentile body type? Me..., I'd add spacers to not submarine under the steering wheel in a crash.
  2. 2014+ TC Manual Conversion

Well, I came out of a Fiesta ST 6-speed in the US into the 1.5 diesel 6-speed Grand Tourneo Connect. I would say it's quite good and worth starting with, but for sure I'm not speed-shifting it ;-) For whatever reason it's way better than some of the Ford rental cars I've had over here - Focus, B-max, etc... those might have been 5 speeds though, I can't remember exactly. I'm enjoying this build though! Keep up the posts!
  3. 2014+ TC Manual Conversion

I'm an American in Germany for 9 months. I drive at diesel 6-speed. I haven't really looked for online sellers, but if you're desperate, PM me and maybe I can help you out at my dealer. His English isn't awesome, but we can usually figure things out.
  4. A 3" memory foam mattress "topper" would be nice if you can deal with the space it takes up.
  5. Storage compartment above instrument cluster?

Agreed. It's a pretty small space. A holster under the steering column would be better...
  6. Storage compartment above instrument cluster?

I think I have that on my Tourneo too... I'll take a picture when I have a chance.
  7. Here's why you shouldn't: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/Hid/conversions/conversions.html Go for some legit bulbs from a legit source like: http://store.candlepower.com/hesowisu.html
  8. new owner

Congrats. We have the 120 PS 1.5 TDCi in ours, and it's been great so far. Let's see some pictures!
  9. What goes here?

The OP was looking for ways to run some aux lighting... Are you saying this isn't worth looking into?
  10. What goes here?

I don't know one way or the other, but sometimes things like this end up not being switches, but just circuit boards, so good luck. Also, there's the Euro headlight switch with extra buttons:
  11. Storage compartment above instrument cluster?

Probably for liability - I agree. I haven't found a use for it to be honest, but here are Some pictures from my German Tourneo Connect.
  12. What goes here?

Here are some pics from my German Tourneo. The start-stop feature works pretty well believe it or not. The restart is quite smooth compared to some cars I've driven over here.
  13. 2014+ TC Manual Conversion

Cool. Seems like a lower risk plan to me too. Just curious, what did they say about it integrating with the the rest of the van? Gauges, SYNC, etc? Hopefully Ford UK keeps the communication between all the ECUs the same so it's transparent? I'm leasing a 1.5 TDCi 6-speed in Germany, and it's great. 105 mph on the autobahn at 23 mpg... If I keep the speed down to 75 mph it's more like 40 mpg. Good luck with your swap!
  14. New from Germany - 1.5 TDCI, 6 spd

Thanks. 3 year assignment... maybe more.
