  1. Howdy! Nice to get the band back together! Hopefully others check back to see the forum back online. I need that backstop in case something goes bonkers on the van. Hope you had a good foliage season up there in the Green Mtns.
  2. After a three month hiatus, glad to see the forum back. Many thanks!
  3. GG - maybe you can be more specific about what you want to do. Hang from the ceiling, side or both? A single mounting point or several? Are you thinking a disco ball or some gator paraphernalia? I would agree with Fifty150 that anything with weight will sag the liner and eventually fail. I have a cargo van so I'm not very familiar with the wagon model liner but I do have some thoughts. If you want to mount from the ceiling, perhaps you can use one of the mounting points for the plastic fasteners, right above your head in your pic. I had to remove a few to lower the headliner above the cab area on the driver's side to replace a parking aid speaker. See pics below. Those anchors are in there pretty good. I had to tug on it and lever it out. One option is to use that to hang something from, wrapping it around the fastener. Or, if you need something beefier, I guess you can remove one, tap the hole to add threads and then add a threaded bolt. That would offer super holding power. Might be a bit difficult to do with the headliner in place but doable. Just some thoughts.
  4. As mentioned many times on this forum by the FORSCAN gurus, guys like Don R, if you plan to make changes then go with a direct connect adapter (USB) to avoid any connection interruptions. For pure monitoring purposes, then a BT connection device is okay. I think Don mentioned he uses both, BT to a mobile device when on the road for monitoring and USB when making setting changes. When I needed to make some changes after upgrading the instrument cluster, I got a ~$30 ELM USB dongle and it worked just fine. Others have had the same success with similar priced models. You've gotten some good advice from others as well. Good luck!
  5. I'm not a tech guy but doesn't jpbonesaw offer a working solution in the post above that might offer help for similar problems that @Jim M and @Mittens01 are asking about? He's saying his Ford service tech friend has identified a known issue with the rear speed sensor. Good luck!
  6. Try Seat Covers Unlimited out of Mesa, AZ. to start your search. I bought a set of custom sized seat covers from them back in 2015 when I got my Gen2 cargo van. They fit great and have held up well. The cover I got is a pseudo wetsuit (neoprene) style called Neo-Sport Black Outer/Black Center (Tailor Made: S-4025TM), with added headrest covers and map pockets, which are very useful. $257 for both seats at the time. I'm sure pricing is higher now but search for a coupon code to save some $. They have promotions around all the holidays as well. Don't know for sure about Gen1 TC seat covers but I'm sure they offer that as well. This will give you a starting point for design and pricing. I'm sure there are other companies offering equal products. Good luck!
  7. Congrats on your new van. Getting a van delivered to the US has the advantage of having this deck bolted in rather than welded in if it was delivered to Canada or EU. You have many options for capturing this foot well area for much needed storage in the TC. Use the SEARCH function in the upper right corner of the page and you'll find lots of different solutions discussed over the years. Below are a few links to get you started, which I found by searching "FOOT WELL".
  8. Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your new TC. All your mods look very cool. You've done a lot in a short amount of time. Re tires, over the years there have been a sprinkling of posts on Geolander tires for offroading adventurers. Do a Search on those to get ideas. See the thread below as well. Good luck!

    2015 FTC Wagon

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new van. I also have a 2015, but a cargo model. There is a SEARCH box in the upper right corner of the page that will give you timely answers to a lot of questions. A good place to start. Don R is the upgrade wizard on the forum and his advice is always spot on. Good luck!

    Transmission

Curious, can you share why a 2-3 year old van would need a new transmission? How many miles? I believe the power train warranty is 5yr/60,000 miles so I'm assuming you've exceeded the mileage limit.
  11. Close, but not exactly. The loading rating on that tire is 91H. I have 97H, which I believe is what the OEM Conti's are as well. See link below. Pricing might be less with rebates and offers. https://www.americastire.com/treadwell/guide/buy-tires/pirelli-cinturato-p7-all-season-plus-ii/p/86739 Link below is on the Walmart site you provided for the 97H rated version, which is more expensive than the 91H rated tire. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pirelli-Cinturato-P7-All-Season-Plus-2-215-55R16-97H-Passenger-Tire/321276017
  12. I replaced the OEM Contis on my 2015 Cargo with Pirelli Cinturato Strada's back in 2019 at America's Tires (Discount Tire). The Contis lasted 20,000 miles, which is about average for me on tires. I've been happy with the Pirelli's for both ride, noise and wear. Now have 8,000 miles on the tires. I don't drive much. The cargo van is pretty noisy anyway even with sound proofing added, so noise from the tires was never a consideration for me. Last year I did pick up a nail in the side-wall and had to replace the tire. New version of the Cinturato Strada is now called Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS or P7 All Season Plus II 205/55 R16 97H, 70,000 miles warranty, Treadwear = 700, Traction=A, Temperature=A
  13. Good job! My cargo van doesn't have an AJB either, as you can see in the picture. But all vans have an aux outlet in the back right corner area making it easy to tap 12VDC (20amp circuit). I agree it's an easy and fast solution. I used my tap to provide power for LED lighting in the cargo area and also added an aux outlet on the left side. That outlet is switched. I did blow a fuse once due to a flimsy 12v plug that melted. I would recommend picking up a spare fuse or two just in case. F15 Fuse - 20amp P/N: F8SZ-14526-AA, about $4. Fuse is located in the engine compartment fuse box.
  14. Your question is answered in the first post of this thread along with a picture, yes?
  15. I have front and rear parking aides in my 2015 Cargo. For parallel parking it's very helpful, especially when doing so on a busy 55mph highway and parking is often tight. If I didn't have them, I'd consider adding an aftermarket setup like the link below. Link is just an example. Not endorsing this product in particular. Have you considered something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Rostra-250-1920-FZ-Front-Mount-Parking-Assist/dp/B00P9FZKFQ/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=Front+Parking+Sensors&qid=1671071990&sr=8-6#customerReviews
  16. That's great news MRTN. So glad to hear it! What's that white stuff all over, from blowing snow? Re Toaster, no worries there, for now. The mods apparently scrubbed his existence deleting all posts. Until his next reincarnation, we can peacefully enjoy the forum without the drama and mayhem. In solemn remembrance....
  17. See attached pic below from the Owner's Manual (2015 TC). User's Manuals available on the web for free downloads. Good luck!
  18. See the link below for info regarding the Parking Aid System. You will see a pic of the PAM in my 2015 Cargo, located in the right rear behind the access panel. Take a look and see what you have located there. Do you have a wiring harness going to all three connectors? Don kindly provided the wiring diagram for the system so you do a little sleuthing with this information.
  19. Thanks Chip. Hope it inspires others to think inside the box. Adding storage above the seats sounds interesting. I agree it's unused valuable space. Keep the side curtain airbags in mind if designing something. The long items stored in my hanging rack poke through to the cab area all the way to the shelf, but only in the middle area. The two vertical tubes are wood dowels painted the same gray color. The angle makes it look like they go to the ceiling but it's about the same height as the bracket. It's for keeping the gear in the middle from flopping over. There's a set of dowels on each end. Probably not necessary but helpful in keeping things from shifting around. The LED light bars are sort of on their own circuit with power being tapped from the right rear AUX outlet. I can see that being useful if camping. Better than opening the door to turn the light on and then waiting 10 minutes for the light to go off. I was going to add a light at the back of the van for task lighting in the barn door area. I have since bought a rechargeable LED work light made by FEIT (2-pack special at Costco) that has a magnet that would work as well. I use that thing in the garden and inside the house. Very handy to have.
  20. Agree with all points. I can see I got your dander up as well. Those fees should be paid by Ford in this case. You already get soaked for a delivery fee. Let it come out of that or they will probably just hike that amount. From what I've been told, those delivery fees include National and regional advertising. I've never seen an ad for a Transit Connect in print or TV, has anyone? Just another bend over fee you have no control over. At least with a buying service like Costco, you have some advocate and buying power in your hip pocket. It's been over eight years since I used their service so I have no idea how effective it is anymore, especially with the current market. Maybe someone that has used them recently can report back.
  21. Back in 2015 I built a custom hanging rack inside the van to carry gear to the beach. Recently a forumite PM'd with questions about the rack after seeing a pic of it on a thread. Since I can't PM pics to someone, I'm posting a few pics here to help them along. Below - Rack frame made with 2"x1"x3/4" pine, glued and screwed. the deck is 1/2" plywood. Covered with bulk carpet from HD, same that was used for the cargo flooring. Below - rear bracket - Simpson strong tie from HD bent in a vise with a mallet to hang plumb. Mounting hole was created using an existing reinforced hole and tapping with threads. Below - shows angle of bent bracket. Below - front bracket - may have given that a slight bend as well, can't remember. Mounting hole used an existing hole - bolt/nut - Nut before bracket to hold bolt in place. Below - view of rack from cab area. Below - a view of a gusset that was added to each hanging bracket. Not part of the initial design but the rack had a slight sway front to back and was making a creaking noise. The gusset cinched up the rack nicely. Uses same strong-tie material. Below - Ditched the LED cargo light that I had ordered with the van since the rack obscured it. Plus the light stays on for 10 minutes and I couldn't control it with a switch. The LED bar lights are controlled with two switches: at the left rear and left sliding door. Very convenient to add task lighting.
  22. Glad you got the van you wanted without having to wait. The wait to get a custom order is crazy long and lots of uncertainty in the process. But, the concept of having to pay over MSRP or a premium for anything because of supply/demand is hard for me to accept. I understand why it's done in a free market economy, but it's just plain wrong for a retailer to take advantage of consumers in doing so. Pure greed. Car dealer sales departments are already bottom feeders in my view and this act only reinforces that. Bunch of undeserving rat bastards. ? The talk that Ford will switch to a direct to consumer business model for future EV sales is a smart move. Same as what other auto co's have done. Leave the sharks and vultures out of the equation and keep your brand respectable and make the sales process fair. https://fordauthority.com/2022/05/ford-dealers-will-likely-switch-over-to-new-business-model-by-2023/ "Selling EVs at fixed prices is a critical move as markups continue to tarnish the brand’s image. Most recently, the automaker itself expressed frustration over dealers selling the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning for over sticker price, though the vast majority are moving the new EV pickup at MSRP. Additionally, the automaker is looking to overhaul its dealer experience after ranking below average in J.D. Power’s 2022 U.S. Customer Service Index (CSI) Study and the 2022 Pied Piper PSI Internet Lead Effectiveness (ILE) Study."
  23. Agree. Use a car buying service to determine an acceptable street price. It gives you more ammo to negotiate a better dealer whether you use the service or not. I went through Costco's auto program for my 2015 Cargo XLT, ordered from the factory. It was a very easy process and there was no haggling involved. I paid a little less than dealer invoice, much less than MSRP and less than what any of the local dealers would offer me. Obviously the market is different now, but it's worth exploring if you're interested in saving some money. Good luck!
  24. nah, just use the edit option. Upper right corner of post - three dots for drop down menu - select edit
  25. Congrats on your new van First time seeing that. If the dealer you got the van from is close by, I'd take it back to them and let them mess with it. Let it be their problem to resolve, not yours. You have to wonder if the dealer properly prepped the van for sale, then how was something so obvious overlooked? Good luck!
