  1. Hi Sammy,

I don't know if you are still looking for some input on this, but I currently convert the Transit Connect into an ADA vehicle. Let me know if you want more information.

    Regards,

    David

    Hey folks:

I was just wondering for those on here that have this vehicle for purposes of transporting someone in a wheelchair.........

is it impossible to have a single back seat available while the person in the wheelchair is aboard.

I see this design on British websites, but here, it's either all or none for the back seat.

Anybody have any input on that ?

The problem is that I have 2 children and one's in a wheelchair. How do the 4 of us go out

if I can only carry mom and dad and child in wheelchair and not the second child ?

    Sammy

  2. I am interested in purchasing a Transit Connect and having a desk installed in cargo bay with a workstation with PC, printer, multiple screens and a high speed internet connection and storage for office equipment and supplies. Has anyone done a conversion such as this and any good leads on a company to complete this type of conversion in Metro Atlanta?

    Thanks

Brondes Ford in Toledo had a Transit with a leveled floor and a raised roof that would easily be converted into a mobile office, but I think they recently sold it. Might want to start looking there.

  3. Anyone here using the TC as a wheelchair van? I'm thinking of getting one as a cheaper alternative to a Honda or Toyota. I would get a platform lift installed in the back..seems like the suspension would be able to handle the weight of the powerchair/lift better.

Anyone who is living with one, I'd love to hear your impressions of daily life as a mobility van.

I know of a Ford Dealer that sells raised roof Transits with power lifts in them in Sturgis, Michigan.
