  1. Today
  2. I saw #7 today!

Um ... eggplant was your color of choice?
  3. I saw #7 today!

Today you get an option of ordering a car to your own tase. I waited for months for my first new car (1996 Escort CLX 3-door) because I wanted it in Augergine Metallic paint. Noone in their right mind orders this in stock.
  4. Don, You are the man.... I had written #184 in my notes on my 2015, but could not remember why. Change setting #184 from "not set or disabled" to "global open/close B-Max" I am pretty sure I can convince the dealer to turn this on. (don't think they would want me to return the vehicle just for this) If not, I will have to go the route you listed and get the stuff to program it myself.
  5. I had the exact same damage to mine, identical. Was fixed by the insurance co in a few days.
  6. Jacks

You don’t need to. It’s for rolling an open-wheel race car into it. You can see it in the background.
  7. Jacks

I think it came with my 1989 Escort (European variant).
  8. Global window close is apparently not approved/allowed for the North American market. Your TC is not faulty. You can add this feature and others by using Focccus or more Forscan. The dealership probably won't or can't make this modification.
  9. Hi, has anyone replaced the composite panels on a 2013 Transit connect and installed glass windows? any advice and photos would be appreciated. I've located the glass panels primer and adhesive but little on the actual procedure. Thanks!
  10. Just picked up a TC Wagon long wheel base Titanium. The global windows open/close only works in the OPEN mode, they will not close. I did the reset of them (twice) as specified in the manual, but they still will not close when you press and hold the lock button on the key FOB. I had this same issue on my 2015 TC that the dealer could never resolve. Took the van back to the dealer the next day, and they could not get them to work, I have an appointment this Tuesday to have the service department have a look at it. Anyone else have an issue with the global windows? See Also my post from 2015: http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/4561-global-windows-openclose/ Bob
  11. Hold on to em. Might change my mind later and go back stock. And if they-re not at Gen 3 when I get my next TC I can always ftransfer the reflectors if they fit.
  12. Jacks

With the frequency of a flat tire on the road (one in 35 yrs driving) and the cost of CAA service, I think I'll leave the jack at home & use that trunk space for something else... GK
  13. I saw your pic on the top of the forum when I opened it - animal strikes leave a very distinct dent & this has it. Hope your bodyshop can find a TC in a scrapyard to get you back on the road. I drove for a courier service many years ago - we had a Plymouth Reliant that got older as it went by you. Two accidents got the front end of an '86 and the tailgate of an '84 put on this '85 wagon. GK
  14. Oil Change

Just a note on oil and filters. What I type here is based on oil and filter manufacturer representatives who've visited our school. 1) There is NO manufacturer making filters, or refining oils, that are making "substandard" products. They MUST be, at least, standard. 2) This means that, if you're doing your oil changes on or before the scheduled intervals, even the cheapest oil and filter will be sufficient. You can argue against this, but it's the truth. 3) NO company is going to leave itself open to lawsuits intentionally. No company is going to produce products that guarantee failures even if used correctly. 4) If your vehicle requires a specific oil, then cheaper oils may not work. But if your vehicle requires SAE/API automotive grade oils, then ANY oil with that specification on the bottle MUST meet minimum requirements and are sufficient.
  15. the OH CRAP tote

I don't wear boots. I can't carry that stuff in my running shoe.
  16. Jacks

Money saving techniques of the automobile manufacturers. Federal regulations say they MUST supply a jack. The regulations say they MUST support the vehicle. The regulations do NOT specify under what conditions the jack must support the vehicle. So, they provide a jack that will barely support the vehicle on a flat, level, concrete surface. Any other conditions and the jack may or may not work ... but that's not "their" problem.
  17. Jacks

I've never seen one in real life. Did these come as OEM equipment in any U.S. cars? Now that I think about it, I saw it once in a youtube video.
  18. TC dash screen

I'm so old, I think that if you remove the screen, the opening is just right for an 8 track.
  19. Jacks

GBL, I hope you never have to find out how well your jack works on the side of the road in the middle of a dark & stormy night. I like the idea of the low profile jack. Ground clearance and lift range are important to me. I am still wondering how low to the ground the Transit Connect gets with a flat tire. Just by pulling over randomly and measuring, I've already found that the 8" I have in front of my house becomes less on uneven grades. Important because a lot of roadways are uneven and graded to slope towards the right for rainfall. Should I carry a low profile jack instead of the little trolley jack? Will my little trolley jack fit with a flat tire on a grade? I don't want to find out in the middle of a dark & stormy night. https://youtu.be/UeR27OP4V7U?t=42s
  20. I saw #7 today!

I don't get it. I've never ordered a car. In the old days, it was a matter of browsing the lot, finding one I liked, go on a test drive, then haggling with the salesperson. Today, you can browse the inventory online, go on a test drive, and you still have to haggle the salesperson.
  21. Managed to kill Bambi on the way home Saturday morning. I may be losing my membership card. :( Man I hope they do not total this thing out.
